Celebrate good times, come on!

Cheesy title, I know!  Today is the one year anniversary of this blog.  One year ago today, I blogged about ripping up the kitchen floor.  Hard to believe so much has happened in one year!  Even though we didn’t technically move into the house until August 1, we were hard at work trying to make this sadly neglected house our home.  Which it is.

Some highlights –

  • I survived another year at my job, am now transferring to a new school – super excited!
  • William got laid off.
  • We learned to budget (see directly above) and have done a damn good job doing it!
  • We got a pig.
  • We got two puppies.
  • We got a chameleon. (I’m thinking about adding the name Dr. Doolittle to our mailbox).
  • We lost a snake, possibly still residing in our home, controlling the rodent population.
  • We learned too many handyman skills to name here.
  • We planted a vegetable garden, and it actually grew!
  • We celebrated our second anniversary.
  • We went to IKEA for the first time.
  • I saw a real live shark, in the ocean, and freaked out.
  • William jumped off a cliff, I watched.
  • I completed my first sewing project, a skirt, and its actually wearable.
  • We spent wonderful time together, working, playing, and really growing to love our new home, our new yard, and overall, just life in general.

Well here is to the next year and all the new experiences it will bring.  The house has come such a long way, and I can’t wait to see what it looks like this time next year.  We’ve done so much, but there is still plenty left to do.

You meant “I saw a real live DOLPHIN, in the ocean, and freaked out because I thought it was a shark.” 🙂

Everyone knows that those waters are inhabited by the rare “mistaken identity shark.”
